Hi foodies, today morning I had idli and chutney for breakfast. My husband doesn’t like idlis, I mean the traditional way of eating idlis with sambar or chutney. So I make a quick snack using the idlis to make it edible for him. You can try the same with leftover idlis and add your own flavour according to your taste and imagination.
What I used for this recipe?
Idlis – 4 cut into cubes
Onion Sliced – 1 big
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
Mixture or Sev or any such snack – 2 tbsp. I have used Haldiram mixture
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – as required.
Curry leaves – as required for flavour
Corriander leaves – for garnishing
How to prepare
Heat oil in a frying pan. Saute and fry the onions and curry leaves adding salt. I always add little bit of salt while frying the onions since it makes the onion get fried quickly. Once the onion slices are golden brown, add the idli cubes and fry well. Sprinkle all the powders and salt over it. Mix well.
Remove from the stove and add the mixture and mix well. Garnish with chopped corriander leaves and serve hot.
